Frequently Asked Questions

Survival intelligence. Decrypted.

How do I join the server?

[METHOD]: Press F1 in Rust, then type client.connect 47.25.226.71:28015 and press Enter. Alternatively, find "Dead Signal" in the community server list or use the direct connect button on our homepage.

What makes this server different from vanilla?

[DIFFERENTIATION]: Dead Signal removes the chaos of typical Rust servers. No raids, no decay, no offline raiding. We focus on cooperative PvE, building lasting bases, and community-driven gameplay. The only PvP is during the monthly Signal Collapse event.

When does the server wipe?

[SCHEDULE]: First Thursday of every month, following the global Rust force wipe schedule. The Signal Collapse PvP event begins exactly 24 hours before the wipe.

⏱️ TRACK: Type /signal time in-game to see the countdown, or check Rust Force Wipe for the global schedule.

What is the Signal Collapse event?

[EVENT]: 24 hours before each wipe, all safety protocols dissolve. Total PvP is authorized. Raid every base, tear down every wall, claim everything. This is your chance to go all-out before the reset. The signal dies. Survive.

[TIMING]: Begins exactly 24 hours before the global wipe (first Thursday of each month at 11:00 AM PST). Ends when the wipe occurs.

[AUTHORIZED]: All raids, base destruction, tool cupboard raids, door raids, and PvP combat are permitted. No restrictions.

[PROHIBITED]: Cheating, hacking, toxicity, and harassment remain banned. Event PvP does not excuse rule violations.

[TRACKING]: Use /signal time in-game to see the countdown. The homepage also displays a live timer.

[STRATEGY]: This is your opportunity to use accumulated resources for maximum destruction. Stockpile explosives, coordinate with allies, and prepare for chaos. After the wipe, everything resets.

Can I raid other players?

[PROTOCOL]: NO - Raids are strictly prohibited outside of the Signal Collapse event. This includes tool cupboard raids, door raids, and any form of base intrusion. Violations will result in removal.

Exception: Signal Collapse event (24 hours before wipe).

Do bases decay?

[DECAY]: No. Bases do not decay on Dead Signal. Build freely without maintenance timers. You do not need to put resources in your Tool Cupboard—upkeep is 0 for all active players and bases. Inactive players and bases are automatically removed by our custom plugin after 6 days of inactivity.

What happens if I don't log in for a while?

[INACTIVITY]: Players inactive for 6 days will be purged from the server. If multiple players are authorized on a single Tool Cupboard and at least one player logs in within the 6-day timeframe, the base will remain safe. However, individual players who have not returned may still be purged as inactive sleepers.

Keep your team active to protect your base and your presence on the server.

What plugins does the server use?

[MODIFICATIONS]: We run custom-coded plugins and administration tools built specifically for this community. Features include the Signal Collapse countdown, custom commands like /signal time, and unique administration tools. We maintain a vanilla progression feel with quality-of-life enhancements.

Can I claim monuments or puzzle areas?

[MONUMENTS]: While you cannot claim exclusive ownership over monuments, we have a custom plugin to help coordinate monument runs. Use /claim "location name" to announce you are running a monument. This creates a 30-minute timer and alerts other players if they try to claim the same location.

[PURPOSE]: This system provides context for admins to settle disputes between players. It does not actively prevent others from visiting the monument—loot remains first come, first serve.

[LOOT]: If you use your own keycards or resources to access secured loot, that loot is yours. Public loot (CH-47 hackable crates) is first come, first serve unless players agree otherwise.

Is there a Discord server?

[COMMUNICATION]: Yes. Join our Discord to coordinate with other players, report issues, get admin support, and stay updated on server events. The signal is strongest there.

What happens if someone breaks the rules?

[ENFORCEMENT]: Report rule violations in Discord via a support ticket. Do not handle situations yourself. Admin staff actively monitor and enforce rules fairly. Consequences range from warnings to permanent bans depending on severity.

Can I build shops or community areas?

[COMMUNITY]: Absolutely! Player-created shops, towns, and community areas are encouraged. Trade with other survivors, build together, and create lasting community projects. Respect others' work and don't block map access.

Is the server home-hosted?

[HOSTING]: Yes. Dead Signal is a privately hosted Rust server running from a home setup in the United States. Not a paid service—run with passion and dedication by the community, for the community.

What are the server specs?

[SPECIFICATIONS]: Max 50 players, procedural maps, vanilla progression with custom plugins. Optimized for stable performance and fair gameplay.

Can I ask admins for items or teleports?

[POLICY]: No. Admins do not spawn items, teleport players, or provide free resources. Everyone plays by the same rules. Special treatment is not given. Focus on survival and progression like everyone else.

What language should I use in chat?

[COMMUNICATION]: Please use English in global chat so moderators can properly assist players when needed. Friendly banter is fine, but toxic behavior, racism, homophobia, and hate speech are not tolerated.
